Present situationExpert advisor/researcher on ocean wave dynamics, climate and statistics at Deltares.
1/2008-12/2010: Senior researcher/advisor on ocean wave dynamics, climate and statistics at Deltares | Delft Hydraulics.
9/2005-12/2007: Researcher/advisor on ocean wave dynamics, climate and statistics at WL | Delft Hydraulics.
11/2003-8/2005: Scientist under contract from Environment Canada on "Analysis of wave climate scenarios uncertainties".
My thesis involved research in three main areas: calculation of directional wave spectra from high frequency radar measurements; dynamical modelling of ocean waves; statistical methods for the comparison of data sets.
The final output of the MSc. thesis was a method enabling a simple and effective way of forecasting wave conditions on board of ships. This involved running an assimilated wave model on a ship-based PC, making use of ship wave observations and possibly other data, and was shown to be useful for providing wave forecasts along different ship routes.
