05-08-2006 TASK 4 |
After -again- a long wait on take off the wind dropped and the last task of the competition could start.
Not many pilots took off immediately after window open but things wouldn't get much better and gradually all pilots left the ground.
Conditions were better than the day before scattering the pilots around the route to goal with only one pilot who actually made it (Philippe Broers).

03-08-2006 NO TASK |
Task cancelled due to strong winds.

02-08-2006 TASK 3 CANCELLED |
With no clouds and a clearly visable inversion layer conditions promised no early start of a task.
The first winddummies bombed out but conditions improved a bit and some winddummies could stay in the air.
Suddenly increasing winds got them into a bit of trouble however, after some exciting moments two of them landed safely on the plateau to the left of
launch, one other got safe on the ground further back on the plateau and the last went very slowly into the headwind towards the airstrip of Chaves
(after pilots on launch formed a big arrow ponting in that direction) and landed safely just in front of it. Shortly after the task was cancelled.
