FAQ

Why can't I find ColorNamepicker in the Applications folder?

It is not a stand-alone application, but it is a plug-in for the Mac Os X colorpicker.

So how can I use it?

The color picker can be accessed from many applications, including TextEdit, Mail, Preview, iChat, Pages and Keynote.

OK, now I want to see it in action. How can I do that?

Run Mail or TextEdit, in the menubar go to Format (> Font) > Show Colors. Alternatively, press command+shift+C.

So I can not run it separately?

Well, actually you can by using this trick.

Where is the plug-in installed?

By default it is installed in /Library/ColorPickers/.

How do I uninstall ColorNamePicker?

To uninstall ColorNamePicker simply remove the ColorNamePicker folder from /Library/ColorPickers/.
