So you want to make use of various XML feeds on your pocket pc or PDA?

Then you`ve come to the right place!

Below are serveral RSS links (most of them are in dutch) which we`re gonna use later.
But first we need the software which is gonna read the newsfeeds for us and upload it onto our PPC/PDA.

The program which is the most easiest (and totally free for use!) is AvantGo.
So i`ve setup a nice walkthrough for you to follow.........

Step 1
Go to AvantGo.
And click "Get It Now".

Step 2
Fill in the usual crap (a valid emailadress is optional). And click Continue

Step 3
Click some of the checkboxes (the terms of service and the privacy statement).Click continue

Step 4
Choose your device. You can choose from the following list:

  • Pocket PC
  • Palm 5 windows/mac
  • Blackberry
  • Symbian UIQ/S60
  • Palm 4 windows/mac

  • And click continue (yes again....)

    Step 5
Download and install the software (5.9mB)
After that the AvantGo software will use your active sync function to configure the software.

    Step 6
Now you are all set to add your favorite RSS feeds to your account.
So login using you created login and password. Click the "create an rss channel" button and fill in your favorite RSS feed.
Repeat this step untill you added all your feeds or your 2MB max memory limit is reached :)
(Currently i only use 7 feeds which is 1.3mb).

    Step 7
Now Sync your device (the AvantGo icon should be there with your contacts, email etc icons).
The RSS feeds are being transfered to your PDA.

    Step 8
All done, just load up AvantGo and read your feeds :)
